The tenth season of the police procedural drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit premiered on NBC on September 23, 2008 and concluded on June 2, 2009. The season consists of 22 episodes. It is the only season to include Michaela McManus as Kim Greylek. It also marks the return of Stephanie March, who reprises Alexandra Cabot in a recurring role. Starting from this season, the lighting became brighter than the previous seasons, most likely due to the introduction of HD resolution and widescreen picture being introduced widely to most television channels around the world as well as television stations around the world starting to switch over to a digital transmission. This lighting continued until the thirteenth season when the lighting became much brighter. This season aired alongside with season nineteen of Law & Order and season eight of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
