Sandra Blaine is the mother of student and school shooter Joe Blaine. Sandra wanted to reduce her son's hyperactivity and used a complimentary prescription psychiatric drug from Tauscher-Leto Pharmaceuticals to see if she could regulate her son's behavior and mental health. The drug, Aptral, had psychotic and murderous affects on Joe, which led to him shooting two boys at his school and nearly killing himself.
When Joe was charged and taken to trial, Sandra came forward and revealed she gave him the drugs. She revealed she never knew the drug would deteriorate his already impressionable mental state and believed the information on its intended effects provided with the courtesy delivery.
When Joe's sentence was reduced due to diminished capacity, the squad went after the pharma company's CEO, Dean Reynolds, and found enough evidence to arrest him for criminal distribution of the prescriptions and reckless endangerment. (SVU: "Manic")
