Sarah Kimmel is a rape and torture victim of Darryl Kern and Marvin Posey, collectively better known as "The Bowery Stalker". She is notable for being the sole escapee.
History[]
She was kidnapped by Kern and repeatedly tortured by him and his partner Posey. When Posey was left to guard her while Kern was out, she was able to escape, leading the police to their hideout in the warehouse they were in. What they found was a torture chamber and four dead, naked women stacked on top of each other but no sign of her kidnappers.
Kimmel was traumatized from her ordeal more than enough she couldn't sleep without her lights on or earning other money besides disability, fearing she'd be targeted again. She was brought in to identify a suspect, but she cried when she was devastated Kern was never there. She refused all additional solicitations for her assistance. When Posey was killed and Kern was captured, John Munch, the detective on her case she befriended, personally arrived at her door. Munch told her that she could turn her lights off, as Kern was successfully incarcerated. She took some peace from that and went back into her apartment. (SVU: "Manhunt")
