Scott Dayton (alias Thomas Dayton) is the boyfriend of Annabel Hayes under the name of his dead brother Thomas.

Scott stole Tom's social security number to pose as him because Scott was a convicted pedophile rehabilitating himself and wanting a fresh start. He was a firsthand witness to Annabel and her daughter Virginia Hayes fighting over tenant Richard Schiller for his affections. When Schiller was murdered, Scott was found out and admitted his true identity, but he pointed to the Hayes women when the seduction triangle was revealed. Virginia was revealed to be guilty, but she tried to accuse Scott of molesting her to garner more pity than suspicion. It didn't work, and she was arrested for murder in the second degree.
