Shea McGrath is the daughter of Tommy and Katie McGrath.
History[]
After Heather Lentz disclosed to Olivia Benson that Shea had been raped, Benson confronted Shea at her home about the rape, which caused her father Tommy to lose his temper. Shea told Benson that she was at a party, and she got a little too drunk. Shea agrees to go the hospital with Benson on the condition that her parents are not there. When the Manhattan Special Victims Unit suspected her math tutor, Saagar, of raping her, McGrath entered the interrogation room and threatened him, causing Benson to send him out. However, Saagar's alibi checks out, but Benson reports McGrath to the Internal Affairs Bureau. Benson then asks Katie to question Shea again where she mentions the name: Liam Dowling. Liam and his parents get questioned about the party and brought into the precinct. Carisi then starts to suspect that Shea wasn't raped as she kept changing her story.
When questioning Shea again, Shea was shown the footage of the assault with a girl witnessing it. Shea claims that she doesn't know the girl's name but denies consenting to the sex with Liam. Shea claimed that she was only into kissing and didn't want to go any further. When questioning the witness, she claims that she never saw the rape but had brought Shea into the bathroom and claims that Shea told her that Liam had raped her. When the cops arrest Liam, her gets into a heated argument with his father, Mickey Dowling, and ends up pulling out a gun which Katie convinces him to put down. Eventually, Liam confesses to the rape and is charged for his crimes. Afterwards, Shea and her parents watch in horror when things at Dowling's house got bad, leading to father and son getting arrested for domestic assault. McGrath ends up resigning from his job to be there for his family in this time. (SVU: "Duty to Report")
