Sherri Quinn is the lawyer of imprisoned dog fighting ring operator Danny Miller, as well as the owner of one of the dogs the ring was torturing, a pitbull named King. King escaped, mauled schoolteacher Sandy Meekin and her Jack Russell to death, attacked another woman, and bit an Animal Control officer before being caught.
Sherri and her husband Roger, the accountant at their firm, were found to have assisted in the ring as being the privileged communications between Miller and his enforcers. As they were last in possession and responsibility over King, they were charged with manslaughter. Sherri and Roger argued King was a sweet dog and was provoked into attacks, but the prosecution brought King into the courtroom to scare even the Quinns into recoiling.
When the judge said to the prosecution to make an offer, the Quinns were pressured into a prison sentence. The prosecution remarked it was unfair they got a plea while King was euthanized. (L&O: “Who Let the Dogs Out?”)
