Shohreh Aghdashloo (born Shohreh Vaziri-Tabar on May 11, 1952 in Tehran, Iran) is an actress who guest-starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the episode "Dirty" as Detective Saliyah "Sunny" Qadri.
In 2004, she was nominated for an Oscar for "Best Actress in a Supporting Role" for her performance in the film House of Sand and Fog (with Frances Fisher). She also appeared in the films X-Men: The Last Stand and Star Trek: Beyond (with Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana, and Anton Yelchin) and had a recurring role on season 4 of the TV show 24. She starred as Chrisjen Avasarala on the TV show The Expanse. Aghasashloo also lent the voice of Grayson in the Netflix series Arcane (with Kevin Alejandro, Toks Olagundoye, Amirah Vann, Ellen Thomas, and Mira Furlan).
Aghasashloo got her role on SVU after meeting Mariska Hargitay at the 2009 Emmy Awards, where both women became such good friends that Neal Baer invited her to guest-star on the show.
