Law and Order

Sidra Lonstein is a woman working in the custodial staff in the NYC subway system.

History[]

When SVU found Sidra, she is heavily pregnant and near giving birth to her baby, which is revealed to have come from her being raped by Sal Avelino when she was seen wearing a dress on the subway, as would happen to seven women after her.

When the rest of the rape charges against Avelino are squashed by a technicality, the squad gets a break in Sidra, whom they bring back to the precinct. Seating her at Donald Cragen's desk, they delicately question her and encourage her to test the DNA of her baby to have evidence of her rape by Avelino.

When this succeeds, Avelino passes by Sidra in cuffs, the two recognizing each other immediately. Avelino stops after spotting her pregnant belly and confesses to the rape right in front of her and the detectives, eagerly insisting to start a family with their baby when he gets out before he is taken away. Sidra cries from the revelation of her ordeal, receiving comfort from John Munch, and Avelino is imprisoned thanks to her courage. (SVU: "Contact")
