- The title of this episode "Sightless in a Savage Land" was also used as the title of an album by Jordie Black's band, Twisted Strands, from the Law & Order: Criminal Intent episode "Reunion". Both episodes were co-written by Warren Leight.
- The song that plays in the open is "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone.
- Rafael Barba returns in this episode as a defense attorney, his previous appearance being in the twenty-first season in a guest role.
- Barba asks if Benson or Tutuola was asking for helping on their lawsuits. Tutuola says the city settled his, referring to the Joelle Fuller lawsuit, which was resolved in "Ballad Of Dwight and Irena".
