Susanna Thompson played Dr. Greta Heints in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 5 episode "Mother".
Thompson received a Dramatic Award for her role as Luisa in A Shayna Maidel. She was also nominated for Best Actress by the San Diego Critics Circle for her role in Agnes of God.
Thompson may be best known for her television work, which includes playing Karen Sammler on Once and Again (with Billy Campbell, Ever Carradine, Marin Hinkle, Jeffrey Nordling, and Steven Weber). She is also known for her role as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow's mother Moira Queen (opposite Jamey Sheridan in a recurring role) on the CW series Arrow (2012–2020). She left the show in Season 2 but reappeared in later crossover episodes (with later stars Rick Gonzalez and Neal McDonough), along with characters from The Flash (with Danielle Panabaker), Supergirl (with Melissa Benoist), and Legends of Tomorrow (with Victor Garber and Wentworth Miller) and in the finale episode "Fadeout" (with Benoist, Gonzalez, and Katherine McNamara). Thompson also had a recurring role as the Borg Queen on Star Trek: Voyager (a role also played by Alice Krige) from 1999-2000 (opposite Kate Mulgrew and Jeri Ryan).
One of Thompson's most controversial television appearances was on an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine entitled "Rejoined". In the episode, she participated in one of television's first same-sex kisses.
