Law and Order

Sylvia Moon is a woman who forged art and had hopes of becoming an aspiring artist and was willing to do anything to do so.

Background[]

Sylvia was in college at Hudson University when she saw her roommate Zoey Payton's very realistic picture of Zoey's parents' living room. Jealous of Zoey's wonderful artistic skills Sylvia killed Zoey and made her death look like a suicide. Sylvia became a forger, making paintings the exact same as other well known paintings and passing the fakes off as the real thing. Sylvia used Zoey's painting in an art show hosted by Janet Rocomora. Sylvia also became affiliated with Rudy Langer, the owner of RSL Gallery.

Art[]

Sylvia was informed by Rudy that a woman named Anne Ellis had threatened to expose Sylvia's art for what it truly was. When Anne met with Rudy, Anne and Bernard Jackson, another forger Sylvia knocked on the door much to Anne and Bernard's confusion as they weren't expecting anyone other than Rudy. When Anne gets drunk and passes out on the couch Sylvia shoots Bernard in the chest and hangs Anne to make it look like Anne committed a murder-suicide.

Sylvia talks to Rudy about how she wants people to see her paintings (despite them being works of forgery) and Rudy tells Sylvia that he has shown it but Sylvia doesn't seem to believe him, he will give Sylvia a show if she gives him two of her canvases. When Sylvia is preparing to work on one of her paintings for Rudy she is confronted by Detectives Goren and Eames, who go into her office to look around in order to find any kind of evidence that shows that Sylvia has committed forgery. Detective Goren finds a green sort of tablet that can crushed and be used for forgery which gives him and Detective Eames the opportunity to bring Sylvia to an interrogation room.

Sylvia tries to convince the detectives that the art she made was original with her lawyer Joan Rhoden. Sylvia claims that she was learning painting from the ways of "the masters" but the detectives weren't buying the story. Detective Eames tells Sylvia what Bernard's message was when he got the painting but Sylvia claims that she didn't know Bernard. Detective Goren tells Sylvia how Rudy said that forgers are devoid of artistic vision after Sylvia tells him that Rudy was running her next art show. Sylvia angrily confronts Rudy about what Detective Goren had said but Rudy says that he only said that so he could protect himself, Sylvia angrily leaves and tells people how her art was bad out of rage.

Sylvia is arrest for tax fraud and Joan returns to Sylvia to help her. ADA Ron Carver tells Sylvia that, in exchange for providing evidence and a testimony against Rudy they would lower her sentence. When the detectives, Joan and Sylvia arrived at the place Bernard and Anne were killed Detective Goren put several pieces together and realized that Sylvia was the one that killed Bernard and Anne and Zoey, who they thought killed herself. Sylvia tells Detective Goren how no one would understand how she worked so hard just to be a nobody and is arrested for murder.
