Olivia's mom wasn't raped??[]

Wow this blew my mind: "Ms. Benson had a long documented history of alcoholism, and it is possible that this is what led to her brief affair with a married man, Joseph Hollister, by whom she bore Olivia. Ashamed of what had happened, for the rest of her life, Serena would tell Olivia that she had been raped, and it was not until after Ms. Benson's death that Olivia learned the truth."

Is that true? What episode was that revealed in... --Kanamekun 10:57, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

That is true, though I do not recall the episode, it was a fairly recent one.--31dot 12:45, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
It was originally going to be revealed in the second-season episode "Taken", but they decided that it was too soon for that revelation, so they held off until the episode "Florida". -- Gnostic 15:34, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
I just rewatched Florida... Olivia briefly considers that she was wrong about her father being a rapist, but then she finds two similar cases of dining hall women who had been raped. She interviews one of the women and shows her a picture of Joseph, and the woman positively ID's him as her rapist.
So Joseph was definitely a rapist. Several episodes later (8.22: Screwed), Olivia identifies herself to a rape victim as the product of a rape. I haven't rewatched Screwed in its entirety yet though, so I can't say for sure that it's not discussed more in that episode.
It sounds like this revelation appeared in an episode after Florida... does anyone have an idea which episode that might be? Thanks! --Kanamekun 20:55, February 2, 2010 (UTC)
I watched the rest of Screwed, and there was nothing in there to counteract the news of the rape. Maybe it was a later episode? --Kanamekun 10:51, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Does anyone else have evidence that Serena lied about her rape? There's been a request for a citation for a month and a half, but there's been none added... and there's also plenty of evidence of an actual rape (see above). Given all this, I'm inclined to remove the info from the article, unless someone can find a cite? Thanks! --Kanamekun 08:00, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
