Transgender Naming Conventions?[]
Do we have a policy regarding transgendered naming?

- No, I don't think so... do we need one? ;) -- renegade54 03:39, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps I should rephrase - Are we going to regard "Hailey Van Kuren" as an alias of "Henry Van Kuren"?

- Wow, that's a tricky one. I believe Henry seized to exist when Hailey emerged, so it's not an alias but her real name. I would go for using the name that people would look for on a wiki. In this case: Hailey becomes the main article, and Henry the redirect. In the article we could always mention that Henry officially never changed his name to Hailey, and is physically a boy. This kind of subject could be a stepping stone for a very long discussion about transgender persons and their rights, which I think we should avoid. Maybe we do need a policy that we can all agree on... But like I said it's a tricky one. --ThePegasus 12:38, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
