Terry Bellantoni is a former CFO of Questarc under the employment of Ethan Merritt. Bellantoni, as the sixth-in-command, put so much investment into the startup that two of his wives got divorces with him. Merritt replaced Bellantoni with Alexis Morphew, which infuriated Bellantoni because he assumed social media responses influenced Merritt to find a person of a different race for the position for more inclusion in business. Bellantoni received a severance package because of his substantial role in the business.
When Alexis was strangled to death in her apartment, Merritt directed detectives to harassing messages Bellantoni left Alexis. Bellantoni admitted to being livid, but not murderous. His alibi of being in Palo Alto checked out, and he directed the team to Alexis' assistant, Kayla Stevens, to track down the real killer. (SVU: "Severance (II)")
