- The episode title refers to three rings: the ring worn by the murder victim, an identical ring currently being worn by the wife of a well connected, successful businessman and suspected killer, and an engagement ring given to the girlfriend of the murder victim's previous boyfriend.
- This episode was dedicated "In Memory Of Dr. Paul Chernuchin" the father of one of the writers on Law & Order, Michael S. Chernuchin.
- Goof: An episode scene card indicates that a scene is set at the New York Supreme Court on Monday, November 11. However, November 11 is Veteran's Day, a federal holiday, and the Supreme Court would have been closed on that date.
