Thomas McCarthy is a film director, screenwriter, and actor who played four different characters in Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
McCarthy wrote and directed the film Spotlight (which starred John Slattery), the 2015 Academy Award for Best Picture, as well as the film Stillwater (which starred Matt Damon and Abigail Breslin). He has also starred in many movies such as Meet The Parents (with James Rebhorn and Teri Polo), Baby Mama, The Lovely Bones, 2012, Little Fockers and Pixels and in the fifth season of The Wire (with Reg E. Cathey, John Doman, Clark Johnson, Deirdre Lovejoy, Wendell Pierce, Lance Reddick, Andre Royo, Sonja Sohn, Seth Gilliam, Michael K. Williams, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Jamie Hector, Neal Huff, Tristan Wilds, Michael Kostroff, and Isiah Whitlock, Jr.). He also created the TV show Alaska Daily (which stars Meredith Holzman and Matt Malloy).
