Tim Schwimmer is the legal representation of serial killer Mark Bruner.

History[]

Schwimmer grew up in Lakeview and wanted to work in Wall Street, but paralegal work was his closest shot at rising the pyramid. Looking for a career-breaker, he took on Bruner's case, with Bruner being convicted and sentenced to death for the rapes and murders of two girls. But Bruner delivered a shocking revelation that made the case Schwimmer's worst nightmare: to evaluate the legal situation, Schwimmer went with Bruner to a storage container where fifteen or sixteen other murdered girls were rotting.

Schwimmer tried to convince Bruner to reveal the location so they both didn't carry the secret from attorney-client privilege, but Bruner just relished in the chaos and continuously harassed everyone. Desperate to find the girls, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office waged a campaign of obscene publicity. When Schwimmer got ousted in the NY Daily news, protesters picketed his outside his home, sent him death threats, and threw miscellaneous items. Schwimmer confronted McCoy with a copy, but McCoy just threatened more harassment by news outlets.

McCoy finally escalated to having Schwimmer arrested as an accomplice, as he'd have had to physically open and shut the container door to see the dead girls and leave them behind. Schwimmer, now fully trying to maintain his oath as an ethical attorney, still refused to disclose information, despite the highly unethical prosecution involving the loved ones of the girls being brought to the stand as personal witnesses. Schwimmer was ultimately convicted, with McCoy holding out for Rikers making Schwimmer crack, but the results are unconfirmed. (L&O: "Bodies")
