Todd Barton is one of two college students, along with Jason Ward, who burned down four churches for thrills they didn’t get from drug abuse.
When a copycat fire killed Catholic school teacher Charles Nash, Barton and Ward were tracked, arrested and questioned. Barton cracked first, confessing to the first four fires, but providing an alibi for the fifth. Different accelerant used in the fifth fire was additional evidence to clear the duo.
Barton and Ward were still found guilty and imprisoned for arson. (L&O: "Good Faith")
