History[]
Tomas married a Romani woman named Nadia and had one child with her, a son named Nico. Keeping to their local ethnic communities, Tomas tried and failed to keep Nico from being bullied and harassed at school and in the city in hope of him building his life. Nico disappeared one day after school, leading to a city wide search.
Tomas' life and family were torn apart when Nico was found at a construction site having been tortured to death. Nadia couldn't fair to face she was seeing her son on a morgue slab, so Tomas made the ID himself. Nadia then had her off grief-stricken breakdown and set a fire in the bedroom of the case's prime suspect, mentally challenged hermit and fellow Romani neighbor Marc Rajic. Courtney Lane and Emma Butler, two seemingly supportive students at Nico's school, came to bring flowers to the Greys, but it was revealed Lane killed Nico and Butler helped cover for her out of duress.
