Tony Delgado was the third grade teacher of Carlos Guzmán. He was also a pedophile who was responsible for sexually abusing the latter from childhood to adolescence.

Background[]

Mr. Delgado worked as a teacher but unknown to all he was a sexual predator. Delgado took an interest in a young Carlos and took advantage of his vulnerability, due to the absence of his father. Delgado would carry on this until Carlos reached middle school and likely outgrew his preference. The trauma left Carlos so scarred, he never told anyone of his experience.

Burning With Rage Forever[]

Twenty-years later, for reasons unknown Mr. Delgado had died in a fire. This was broadcasted on the news, which Carlos would witness and it caused him pleasure but also made the memories of his abuse flood back.

Carlos' repressed feelings later caused him to project his rage on a predator who kidnapped and abused his nephew, leading to him getting arrested but he was promptly released on bail. Despite doing a good deed, Carlos ultimately followed in the cycle of abuse by sexually assaulting the son of his girlfriend, nearly causing him to commit suicide in his guilt.

Carlos was talked down by SVU detectives and revealed his past at the hands of his teacher. At the hospital, Carlos explained his past trauma at the hands of Mr. Delgado and how he never told anyone of the abuse before was questioned if he started the fire that killed his third-grade teacher. Carlos truthfully denied any involvement in the fire but expressed joy that Delgado was dead because he knew that he was burning in Hell. However, Carlos also voiced shame at becoming the same type of person his teacher became and that his nephew also suffered the same abuse. Overhearing all of this, Sebastian was horrified by what his brother endured and wished that he would have known about this to help him. (SVU: "Burning With Rage Forever")
