Travis Jones is a rock musician who killed his former bandmate Shane Mallory and former girlfriend Patty Voytek.

Travis and Shane formed the band Crisis after they started out as musicians writing poetry and lyrics together when they were kids. Travis started dating Patty, another rock musician who struggled with a drug addiction, but Patty left Travis for Shane. The fallout resulted in Shane kicking Travis out of the band, and their act fell apart shortly after.
Travis got revenge by shooting Shane and staging it as a suicide. When Patty arrived at Travis' apartment for drugs, Travis shot her too and left her in a dumpster. A detective, Mike Foster, was onto Travis and presented the gun to the police, resulting in Travis' arrest. However, the evidence was thrown out because Jones was guilty of breaking several laws and ethical codes, including illegal wiretapping.
A death threat Travis wrote to Shane secured the gun as evidence again, and Travis confessed in a professed outrage of the two people he loved most leaving him behind. Travis was found guilty and imprisoned. (L&O: "True Crime")
