Ty Burrell (born Tyler Gerald Burrell) is an actor who is best known for his role as Phil Dunphy on the ABC comedy series Modern Family with Julie Bowen as his wife Claire Dunphy, Sarah Hyland as his oldest daughter Haley Dunphy, and Ariel Winter as his youngest daughter Alex Dunphy. He also starred on the sitcom Out of Practice (with Paula Marshall and Henry Winkler), the movie Butter (with Rob Corddry and Jennifer Garner), and voices Jack Harris on the animated TV sitcom Duncanville (with Riki Lindhome) and Mr. Peabody in the film Mr. Peabody & Sherman (again with Winter and with Stephen Colbert and Allison Janney).
He played three different characters on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order.
