The United States Marine Corps is a branch of the United States Armed Forces responsible for providing power projection from the sea, using the mobility of the United States Navy to rapidly deliver combined-arms task forces. The Marine Corps were formed in 1775 as the Continental Marines. It is the smallest branch of the military, but the most popular due to Hollywood films.
