Background Information and Notes[]

  • The episode was originally scheduled for broadcast as part of the eighteenth season of SVU on October 12, then pushed to October 26 and then postponed until after the elections and slated for November 16. It was later announced on October 16, 2016, that NBC made the decision to pull the episode from the line-up for the time being, and it will not air on television after all. It was later announced that this episode had been shelved indefinitely and is almost certain to never air.[1]
    • This episode was known to be based on the sexual assault allegations made against Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election. As a result, there was a conflict between NBC executives and the show's crew, which resulted in several changes to the episode's plot in order to minimize its similarities with the real-life controversy.[2]
    • During an interview in 2017, Ice-T stated that he doubted the episode would air, claiming that it was not "worth showing" and implying that executives would shelve it because of its extremely close similarities with Trump's campaign and the fact that Trump's victory in the election made the episode's plot outdated. He also spoiled the ending, revealing that Gary Cole's character would, in fact, be innocent and the accusations were a fabrication spun by the character's campaign advisor in an effort to derail his campaign, as he believed his client wasn't a fit for political office. Ice-T also claimed that he didn't regret filming the episode as he still got paid to do so.[3]
    • Despite never airing, a promo was released for this episode and can be found on YouTube and Dailymotion.[4]
