Background information and notes[]
- This episode was inspired by the Steve Bartman incident during the 2003 National League Championship Series between the Chicago Cubs & Florida Marlins (Game 6, 8th inning.)
- In show, people in New York (including the detectives) are mad that a New York baseball team didn't make the World Series. In real life, the New York Yankees did advance to the World Series in 2003, losing to the Florida Marlins.
