Vincent Riley is a Senior Detective with the Manhattan North Homicide Squad, replacing Detective Frank Cosgrove. He is partnered with Detective Jalen Shaw.

History[]

After Cosgrove left the squad, Dixon hired Riley as Jalen Shaw's new partner. Riley and Shaw investigated the murder of Nathan Alpert. When Riley asked Shaw about Cosgrove, Shaw claimed that Cosgrove was good at the job but couldn't handle it. (L&O: "Freedom Of Expression")

It was revealed that in 2020, Riley was suspended from the force for six months after punching out a sexist NYPD Captain whom he overheard engaging in a disparaging argument with Kate Dixon. In the hours before he threw the punch, he had been drinking due to extreme stress from his father's death at the time. However, he insisted that he wasn't drunk at the time of the incident. This incident later affected his testimony during the trial of a serial killer that he had been investigating at the time of the captain's assault. (L&O: "Turn The Page")
