Mrs. Wheeler is the mother of Matthew Wheeler, a delivery boy who was murdered.

History[]

Mrs. Wheeler was a devout Catholic, who, at some point married an unnamed man and birthed a son, Matthew.

When Matthew was killed in cold blood during one his deliveries, Detectives Briscoe and Curtis come to the Wheeler household and informs Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler of Matthew’s murder, Matthew’s parents showed confusion as to why someone would want to kill him. When Detective Briscoe asks Matthew’s parents if they thought he had done drugs or had been hanging out with the wrong people to which Mr. Wheeler denies it. Mrs. Wheeler says how they should tell Lauren, Matthew’s girlfriend, of his death. When being told about Lauren's relationship with Matthew, Detective Briscoe asks to see her to which Mrs. Wheeler goes to get Lauren's address to give to the detectives. The detectives then leave upon getting Lauren's address.

When the Catholic Church refused to let Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy or anyone use a tape of one of Matthew’s killers, Joey Timon, confessing his role in Matthew’s murder to a Catholic priest named Father Galva, Detective Briscoe and Lt. Van Buren inform Matthew’s parents of the Church's decision. Both of Matthew’s parents were outraged by the decision, with Mrs. Wheeler feeling that it was not right what the Church was doing and Mr. Wheeler wanting to ignore the Church's decision and to use the tape against Joey and Matthew’s other killer, Dale Kershaw.

When a hearing was put for whether or not the tape of Joey's confession could be used against him, Matthew’s parents were present. When Judge Mickerson decided that the confession tape could not be used against Joey, Mr. Wheeler was infuriated, saying how it "wasn't justice" and yelled about how Joey killed Matthew, Judge Mickerson had a court officer remove Mr. Wheeler while Mrs. Wheeler stayed sitting down.

When Joey was put in court and confessed to assisting in the murder of Matthew, both of Matthew's parents were present, in the middle of Joey's confession, Mrs. Wheeler started to cry with her husband comforting her. Judge Steinman says how both of the victim's parents, Mrs. Wheeler says how she tried to hate Dale for killing Matthew but in the end she couldn't hate him and how even Dale and Joey deserve God's protection and she will pray for Dale's safety in prison. With that, Mrs. Wheeler sits back down with her husband and, after hearing of Dale's sentence, leaves the court. (L&O: "Thrill")
