William Hall Macy Jr. is an actor who played two different characters in Law & Order. He played Assistant U.S. Attorney John McCormack in the original pilot episode "Everybody's Favorite Bagman" (as W. H. Macy), and Jack Powell in the Season 2 episode "Sisters of Mercy".
Macy was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Jerome "Jerry" Lundegaard in Fargo. He also received two Emmy Awards for his work on Door to Door. He is also known for his role as Frank Gallagher on the Showtime network series Shameless (with Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, Steve Howey, Cameron Monaghan, Ethan Cutkosky, Noel Fisher, Zach McGowan, Chloe Webb, and Joan Cusack). He also starred in the film Down Periscope (with Rip Torn) and was also the director of the film The Layover (starring Alexandra Daddario).
He is married to actress Felicity Huffman.
