Yusef Barré is a teenager who was suspected of drug dealing.

Amaro and Officer Shannon McKenna chased Yusef into his apartment building, where Yusef hid. When McKenna shot at Yusef, the bullets ricocheted and hit McKenna. Thinking Yusef was shooting at them, Amaro fired his gun, hitting Yusef in the lower chest. Amaro soon discovered Yusef had no gun and tried to apply pressure to stop the bleeding.
After Amaro was acquitted of any wrongdoing, he went to try and apologize to Yusef and his family. However, he was stopped by Reverend Curtis, who told him it was not a good time. It was revealed that, as a result of the shooting, Yusef was paralyzed and was left unable to walk. (SVU: "Amaro's One-Eighty")
